Abstract
The goddesses are a means of rescue when there is a shipping accident, but there have been several cases of accidents when testing the launch of lifeboats which caused several people to be injured and died. Firmansyah, Gita Asrudin (2018). The purpose of this paper is: To find out what obstacles are faced when operating lifeboat engines, besides that this paper aims to find out how to carry out good and correct lifeboat engine maintenance. This paper uses a qualitative descriptive method, data collection is done by interview, observation, documentation and literature study. The results of this paper show that, the goddesses that function to lower the lifeboats from the ship to the surface of the waters, the strength of the goddesses and their equipment on the ship must have a safety factor based on the maximum tensile stress of the material used. Efforts to optimize the treatment of the goddesses for the impact of the congestion factor and unable to reduce the lifeboats are repairing the elmot who have a short circuit in the lifeboats.
