Abstract

Traffic congestion problems often occur in areas that have a very high intensity of activity, land use and population. Traffic jams often occur due to the high traffic volume caused by the continuous mixing of traffic. The nature of traffic jams is a routine occurrence, which usually affects the use of resources. In addition, traffic congestion can also disrupt activities in the surrounding environment, the broad impact of which affects the smooth running of socio-economic and cultural activities in an area. Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Dumai City. The research method used is descriptive quantitative. The sampling technique used purposive sampling totaling 100 respondents. Data analysis used multiple linear regression with the help of SPSS V.25. Y = 5,210 - 0,58X1 - 0,20X2 + 0,633X3 + µ From table 4.24 the results of the regression test obtained the coefficient of determination (Adjusted R square) of 0.383 or 38.3%. This means that the variables of human factors (X1), roads (X2), and side barriers (X3) have a contribution of 38.3% in influencing traffic congestion (Y). Meanwhile, other factors that affect traffic congestion (100% - 38.3%) 61.7% are explained by other reasons outside the model. Suggestions for the next author to use other variables because the results of the Coefficient of Determination Analysis the results are 0.383 or 38.3% are still below 60%. The results show that the human factor variable has a negative effect on traffic congestion, the road segment variable has a negative effect on traffic congestion and the side barrier variable has a positive effect on traffic congestion. Keywords: human factors, roads, side barriers, and traffic jams
