Abstract

This research is motivated by the needs of human life which causes the growth of community mobility. In support of this, it is necessary to have a means of transportation to facilitate human movement to move from one place to another, but as the use of transportation increases, it causes traffic problems such as those that are often encountered, namely traffic violations. This study aims to determine the effect of legal awareness, discipline, education, and infrastructure partially on traffic violations on Jalan Mayor Sunaryo Surakarta. The population in this study was the number of motorcyclists who crossed Jalan Mayor Sunaryo Surakarta on March 28, 2022 at 11.00-13.00 and the sample of this study was 94 respondents. The sampling technique is Non- Probability Sampling with the type of sampling that is Incidental Sampling. Data analysis in this study is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, data analysis using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) version 26. The results of the study by partially testing the t-test hypothesis showed that legal awareness, discipline, education, and infrastructure have a positive and significant effect on traffic violations. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the research model of the multiple linear regression equation is: Y= 1.809 + 0.223.X1 + 0.302.X2 + 0.176.X3 + 0.208.X4 + µ . From the regression equation, it can be seen that the most dominant variable affecting traffic violations is legal awareness with a regression coefficient of 0.318. From the R2 (R Square) test, the result is 0.521, meaning that 52.1% of the variation in the dependent variable of traffic violations can be explained by the independent variables of legal awareness, discipline, education, and infrastructure. While the remaining 47.9% is explained by reasons other than the variables studied. Keywords: Legal Awareness, Discipline, Education, Infrastructure, Traffic Violations
