Abstract

Transportation is the lifeblood of a very large role in supporting the wheels of national development. One of the means of sea transportation is sea transportation in the form of a ship which is a very vital means of transportation for transporting passengers, goods and vehicles. This study aims to determine the effect of the Communication System, Safety Facilities, Technical Inspection, Ship Manning partially on Shipping Safety at the Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang. The population in this study was taken from the crew of the Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang and the sample used in this study was 100 respondents. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with the type of sampling that is Simple Incidental. The analytical method used in this research is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, then the data is analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS). The results of the hypothesis test indicate that the variables of the Communication System, Safety Facilities, Technical Inspection, and Ship Manning have a partial effect on Shipping Safety at the Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang. The results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained Y = -1,398 + 0,218X1 + 0,278X2 + 0,350X3 + 0,302X4 + µ .From these equations, it is known that the most dominant variable that has an effect on Shipping Safety is the Communication System variable with a regression coefficient of 0.079. The R2 (R square) test obtained results of 0.724 or 72.4% which means that Shipping Safety at the Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang is influenced by the variables of Communication Systems, Safety Facilities, Technical Inspections, Ship Manning, which is 72.4% and other factors that influence Shipping safety at Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang, is 27.6%.
