Abstract

The effectiveness of waiting time for ships is one of the problems that must be a concern at the Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang which is very influential for the smooth process of unloading cargo from ships. This study aims to determine the factors of dock availability, demand for pilot boats, and the readiness of loading and unloading equipment on the effectiveness of ship waiting times. The population in this study is the ship crew who are loading and unloading at the Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang with a research sample of 80 respondents. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with the type of sampling, namely sensus sampling. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, then the data is analyzed using multiple linear regression. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the multiple linear regression equation research model is: Y = 1.112 + 0.432 X1 + 0.297 X2 + 0.164 X3 +µ. From the regression equation, it can be seen that the most influential variable on Ship Waiting Time is the Document Service (X1) variable with a regression coefficient of 0.432 and the R Square test obtained a result of 0.587 or 58.7%. This shows that the waiting time for ships at the Port of Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang is influenced by the variables of Document Services, Guidance Services and Pier Capacity, which are 58.7%.
