Abstract
The life of an increasingly advanced society is also followed by the rapid development of science and technology. Information system development is carried out to provide support to the company in overcoming any business changes that occur. In handling ship certificates, you must request data and ship documents to take care of all certificate renewals starting from the beginning of the process until the completion of the renewal process. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out and explain the certificate renewal process at SIMKAPEL and find out what documents must be prepared so that the certificate management runs smoothly without obstacles. As well as knowing the problems that often occur in the process of extending ship certificates. The method used in writing this paper uses the method of observation, interviews, and document studies. In this case, collecting data in the form of data on the object of observation, as well as collection of documents and data related to the certificate renewal process at SIMKAPEL. Based on the results of the discussion, it has been obtained that in the management of certificate extensions, it plays a very important role in the smooth handling of ship documents. The conclusion from this discussion is that the process of extending the ship's certificate plays a very important role for ships operating and preparing ship documents as a condition for extension so that the certificate renewal process runs smoothly.
