Abstract
Indonesia as a maritime country, where sea transportation is one of the port transportation systems that plays a strategic role. Shipping companies engaged in ship agency play an important role in providing services to ships visiting a port. One of the important activities in ship agency services is the completion of ship documents. Agency services are one of the important roles in the smooth process of ship arrivals and departures as well as ship activities at the port. The data used in this study is qualitative data obtained through observation, interviews, documentation studies, in writing this paper the data sources are primary data and secondary data. Primary data is obtained from distributing questionnaires to employees who are willing to become respondents and fill out questionnaires, while secondary data for writing this paper are documents needed at the time of clearance in and clearance out of KM. Sinabung. The process of clearance in and clearance out of a ship must be supported by a letter of notification of the arrival and departure of the ship, main documents and other supporting documents to facilitate the processing of permits for the entry and exit of ships. Good relations between company management, agents, principals, and related agencies must be established for the smooth process of ship arrivals and departures.
