Abstract

The ship agency process in helping to handle the delivery of goods and clarance in and out of ships by sea has been known and carried out for a long time by the wider community, because it is considered faster and more economical, because it can assist in handling the arrival and departure of ships or cargo in very large quantities in one voyage from island to island. This is due to the fact that several private companies have opened new agents at each port to serve non-owned ships. The purpose of this paper is to find out the documents, agencies, procedures, and obstacles in handling the agency. In collecting data, the author uses the method of observation, interviews, document studies, and literature studies. From the results of the writing, it is concluded that the submission of requests for ship arrivals and departures uses the manual method, but uses a system that makes it easier for shipping companies to become agents, because agents do not have to always be at the port or other relevant agencies to do ship clearance in/out. In becoming an agent of the shipping company PT. PBJ Shipping Lines also has an obligation to re-check ship documents, follow government regulations in handling ship agencies during the Covid 19 pandemic. And is responsible for all ship needs if they have deficiencies in ship safety for sailing safety. Keywords: Shipping Companies, Agency. Clereance In and Out
