Abstract
Management of ship safety certificate extension is an activity handled by shipping company operations. The background of the problem in writing this paper is the process of obtaining the extension of the Tugboat Virgo Power 01 construction safety certificate by PT. The Faithful Ark at the Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang. The purpose of this paper is to find out how the process of managing the renewal of a ship's certificate has expired or has expired, what documents are needed and what factors are hindering the processing of a certificate extension. In the process of collecting data for this paper, the author uses several methods, including interviews, observation and document studies. The analytical method used is descriptive, qualitative, which is a way of processing data obtained from oral and written research about the process of obtaining an extension of the safety certificate for the construction of the Tugboat Virgo Power 01 ship by PT. The Faithful Ark at the Tanjung Emas Port, Semarang. The result of this paper is to find out how the process of extending the construction safety certificate for Tugboat Virgo Power 01 by PT. Bahtera Setia at the Port of Tanjung Emas Semarang, the documents needed for processing the extension of the ship's certificate as well as the factors that hinder the process of processing the extension of the ship's certificate. The conclusion of the paper is that in the extension of a ship's certificate, it is necessary to pay attention to the stages and document requirements as well as obstacles that often occur in the certificate renewal process.
