Abstract

Traffic accidents are one of the biggest killers factor in Indonesia and in the world. Increasing human population and the mobility of vehicles or transportation facilities have triggered the increased number of traffic accidents. There are many factors that affect traffic accident as it pertains to human factors, weather, road conditions, vehicle conditions and the environment. This research study analyzed three variables, namely the rider behavior, road conditions and the condition of the vehicle, as the independent variable and traffic accidents as the dependent variable. The purpose of this study was to analyze whether a positive influence, both individually and simultaneously between the independent variables are the rider's behavior, road conditions and the condition of the vehicle against the dependent variable traffic accidents. In this study, the object is taken motorbike riders on the road section Wolter Monginsidi Semarang. Data sources include primary data and secondary data. Samples in this study was 100 respondents. Technical analysis of the data is a multiple linear regression technique. Based on the results of research and analysis produced multiple equation: Y = 1,944+0,326X1+0,315X2+0,194X3+ µ The results of multiple regression study shows that there is a positive influence in partial behavior of motorists to traffic accidents (thitung 3,801>ttabel 1,985), the condition of the road to traffic accidents (thitung 3,450>ttabel 1,985) and the condition of the vehicle against traffic accidents (thitung 2,023>ttabel 1,985). As for the feasibility test models (Fhitung 33,626> Ftabel 2.70) simultaneously variable behavior of motorists, road conditions and vehicle conditions there is a positive effect on traffic accidents. For the variable rider behavior, road conditions and vehicle conditions have contributed 49.7% and 50.3% of other factors that influence traffic accidents as traffic characteristics, knowledge of traffic, weather and other conditions. Keywords: Traffic accidents, driver behavior, road conditions, vehicle conditions.
