Abstract

Handling is the process of regulating the activities of sending goods of a general nature without any special handling from the origin port to the destination port. In this activity, attention must be given to the agreement between the two parties, the specific price, the condition of the loading and unloading port, the condition of the ship and the loading and unloading equipment. As for the problems that occur when these activities occur, among others, handling of cargo when carried out due to the condition of old ships and loading and unloading equipment that does not meet the standards, late delivery of cargo due to the queue of trucks to get to the hold of the ship a lot, and lack of coordination between Related parties, the delay in submitting documents by the sending party is due to the inaccurate time during the shipping process. To minimize errors, things that must be done include maintenance of ships and regular loading and unloading equipment and good communication between related parties. From the information above, the writer made an observation at PT.
