Abstract

This research is motivated by problems that often arise at the Simpang Empat Sanankulon Blitar Regency is traffic density. According to the results of the data from the District Transportation Office (Traffic Daily) taken in November with the daily volume of each signalized intersection, the total capacity intersections and the effect of signalized intersections that use 4 phases to control traffic lights, effect on traffic density at the intersection of four Sanankulon Blitar Regency with Density criteria Choked with DS (saturation) value of 0.9 – 1.0. This study aims to determine the effect of the characteristics of intersection traffic, driver behavior, traffic control and side obstacle control partially on the smoothness of traffic. The population in this study were road users and the sample of this study was 100 respondents.sampling technique was nonprobability sampling with the type of sampling, namely incidental sampling. Analysis of the data used in this study is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) version 25. The results of the study by partially testing the t-test hypothesis showed that characteristics of intersection traffic, driver behavior, traffic control and side friction control have a positive and significant effect on increasing traffic smoothness. Based on the research results, it can be seen that the research model of the multiple linear regression equation is: Y= -1.735 + 0.291 + 0.256 + 0.247 + 0.335 + µ . From the regression equation, it can be seen that the most dominant variable affecting the increase in the smoothness of traffic of side barrier control variable with a regression coefficient of 0.335.test2obtained results of 0.619 or 61.9% which means that the smoothness of traffic is influenced by the variables of intersection traffic characteristics, driver behavior, traffic control and side obstacle control, which is 61.9% and another factor affact smoothness of traffic in sanankulon Kabupaten Blitar are 38.1% or 0.381 Keywords: Intersection Traffic Characteristics, Driver Behavior, Traffic Control, and Side resistance control
