Abstract
The purpose of this study was to determine the efforts of the Port Authority and Harbormaster’s Office Class I Tanjung Emas Semarang in improving the service process offer Clearance. Methods of data collection are done by direct observation in the field, interviews with related parties, and literature study. Data processing was carried out qualitative and the results were presented descriptively. Based on the observation, three main problems were found, namely the delay in the issuance of the Port Clearance due to the Work From Home work system during the pandemic, the less than optimal inspection of the ship's seaworthiness technique by the Port Authority and Harbormaster’s Office Class I Tanjung Emas Semarang, the existence of several officers who are still not disciplined on time in providing services during working hours. Researchers provide suggestions for improving employee performance to optimize the process Port Clearance, increasing inspections on ships in shipworthiness and sailing safety based on the provisions in SOLAS 1974, increasing work discipline of officers in the service at Port Authority and Harbormaster’s Office class 1 Tanjung Emas Semarang.
