Abstract

Idle time or idle time is the time wasted while the ship is at the mooring is a classic problem that has not been resolved in Indonesia. Central Java province has one of the largest ports in Indonesia, located in Semarang, and at the same time being the fifth largest city in Indonesia after Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan and Bandung as a provider of marine transportation facilities and infrastructure in the context of loading and unloading means transferring cargo from and onto ships for stockpiling. into or directly transported to the place of the owner of the goods by going through the port dock by using loading and unloading complementary tools. This study aims to determine the effect of port services, loading and unloading productivity, and machines on Idle Time at PT Pelabuhan Indonesia Tanjung Emas Semarang. The population in this study was the ship's crew from the deck department division and the samples used in this study were 108 respondents. And do not use the sampling technique because the number of samples is the same as the total population, then the data is analyzed using multiple linear regression with the help of (software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS) Version 25. The regression formulation in this study is as follows: Y = 2.166 + 0.320 X1 + 0.134 X2 + 0.299 X3 + µ From this equation, it is known that the most dominant variable affecting Idle Time is the port service variable with a regression coefficient of 0.320. The R2 (R Square) test obtained a result of 0.520 or 52.0% which means that Idle Time is influenced by the variables of Port Services, Unloading Productivity, and Machines which are 52.0% and other factors that affect Idle Time at the Port of Indonesia Tanjung Emas Semarang, which is equal to 48%.
