Abstract
The RTG (Rubber Tyred Gantry) machine is a type of wheeled crane that can move along flat rails in the Harbor. To lift the container from a pile of containers on the ground onto a trailer car in a limited space. Rubber Tyred Gantry has three main movements in transporting and moving goods at the Port. The main movements of Rubber Tyred Gantry are hoist, trolly, and gantry. The way the Rubber Tyred Gantry works is to move the Spreader, Gantry, Trolley, and wheels to run according to the operator's wishes. One of the problems that often arise during the operation of the Rubber Tyred Gantry is that the motor components malfunction. The Motor Component on the Rubber Tyred Gantry is a component that has a high risk of failure of the Gantry Motor to burn. The causes of the failure of the Rubber Tyred Gantry component based on the author's observations are component lifetime, lack of maintenance and excessive use of Rubber Tyred Gantry. In making this paper, the author uses the observation method when carrying out land practice. In addition to observing the authors also conducted interviews and documentation. The author makes observations using the qualitative method with sources of information: company leaders, K3 experts, and technician workers. The results of the discussion of this paper, among others, found damage to the gantry motor components. As well as knowing maintenance and repairs on Rubber Tired Gantry. Maintaining performance on Rubber Tyred Gantry is maintained and has a long service life. Maintenance is carried out based on the lifetime of the Rubber Tired gantry components such as checking bearings on the motor and changing oil.
