Abstract
Ships as carriers in sea transportation in operation in order to fulfill both economic factors and safetyfactors must have three elements, namely: human elements, equipment elements, and regulatory elements. Humans are the main element, while the technical I equipment elements and regulations are only supporting elements. In carrying out routine tasks or carrying out duties according to their functions the officers (leaders} and subordinates always coordinate so that the role of the captain is very important in carrying 0111 their duties. work accidents while on duty on the ship indicate that the quality of human resources is not optimal even though other factors also cause the types of acctdents mentioned above.
