Abstract

The role of ships as a means of sea transportation is indispensable to support the equalization of the level of technological progress, culture and so on in a country. It can also foster cooperative relations between neighboring countries in exchanging technology with developed countries or their equivalent. A ship can also be delayed due to several factors. The purpose of this observation is to find out what facilities are needed to improve ship services, find out what are the factors that cause delays in departure on ships, find out what needs to be done to make it easier to buy ship tickets, find out what are the obstacles and solutions in improving service to passengers. The method used in this observation is the observation method. In addition to using this method, the author also uses the interview method. From the results of observations made by the author, it was found that the ship's crew and officers had carried out an increase in service to the ship, and had found the problem of frequent ship departure delays and the officers had also tried to handle the problem of ship tickets and brokers who hampered the service improvement process.
