Abstract
A ship's auxiliary machinery is one that is used to meet the ship's electricity requirements. The continual rotation of the diesel generator auxiliary motor will produce friction and corrosion of the moving parts. Heat will result from the friction. A liquid, lubricating oil, is used to prevent overheating. Whether or not the lubricant is influenced by the engine temperature, lubricating oil functions as a lubricant for rotating items that rub against each other. The purpose of this paper report is to determine the temperature of the lubricating oil in the generator, to know the maintenance and workings of the generator system. It also seeks to figure out what faults the generator has and how to fix them. The data for this study was collected through an interview and observation. According to the findings of this paper, the lower the temperature of the liquid, the lower the viscosity, and the higher the temperature, the higher the viscosity. The piston is the portion that rubs the most during milling. The increase in the temperature of the generator lubricating oil is due to the Lo cooler's inadequate heat absorption and the presence of heat. Copper and iron losses cause the cooling channel on the generator or alternator to get clogged. Check the lubricating oil pump and lubricating oil pipes so that the lubricating oil pressure achieves the anticipated pressure. When the engine is running or turned on, the lubricating oil line is normally inspected if there is a leak, some lubricating oil will trickle out of the pip. Keywords: Temperature rise, lubricating oil, generator maintenance.
