Abstract
In everyday life, to determine the weight of goods such as rice or sugar, we use a scale. For goods in large quantities and in bulk, we usually use the Weight Bridge Scale as in factories or ports. Meanwhile, if the goods in large quantities and in bulk are still on board, a draft survey is required. The draft survey is closely related to the Archimedes principle where the weight of an object that floats in the water is the same as the weight of the liquid displaced by the object, because by knowing how deep the ship is in the water we can know the weight or weight of the ship's cargo. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to find out how the process of the implementation draft survey, the required documents, related parties and the obstacles during the survey draft implementation. The author uses certain methods in collecting data such as through observations, interviews, literature studies and document studies which in the explanation refers to qualitative and quantitative data, the data is obtained from primary data and secondary data. The results of the observations concluded that all cargo ships and barges, including large ships carrying goods or bulk cargo such as coal, iron ore, nickel and other mining goods, must use the draft survey calculation method. one of the important ship documents as required by international trade regulations and the Ministry of Trade and domestic regulations.
