Abstract
A generator or generator set is a substitute for a voltage source, in the event of a power cut from PLN (State Electricity Company). Generators are also a necessity for the community, so that work activies will not be hampered by power outages. Generators have many benefits and functions. The maximum utilization of this energy converter can bring an extraordinary function that can be used as a driving force to carry out daily activities whitout being hampered by the procces of blackouts from the PLN. The generator is a machine that converts kinetic energi into electrical energy, the rotating part of the generator is called the rotor, while the stationary part is called the stator. In the generator, there is a rotation of the rotor which than cuts the magnetic field lines that occur in the stator, so that an electromotive force is formed, which then electricity is channeled to the output. The generator set consists of an engine (motor propulsion) using gas as fuel, while the generator it self is a coil of wire made of copper consisting of a static coil or stator and is also equipped with a rotating coil or rotor. In the process of working, the generator requires routine maintenance, such as cleaning the air fan and water pump on the cooling machine to clean dust and dirt around the generator, so that the generator engine works optimally and minimizes technical problems.
