Abstract

The subject matter in writing this paper is made to obtain an in-depth picture of the role of PT Mega Maritim Batam, In particular the process of loading and unloading containers on the ship. The subject matter is the efficiency and effectiveness of loading and unloading containers on the ship. The purpose of this observation is to determine the analysis of the efficiency and effectiveness of loading and unloading containers on ship of PT Mega Maritim Batam as well as the stages through which the parties involved, the required documents, the obstacles experienced and the methods used to overcome obstacles in the process of loading and unloading containers on the ship. The data collection method used, the authors use the method were obtained through direct interviews, observation which saw firsthand the activities at the port, books, archives, and other sources. The results of the study can be concluded that the company is engaged in shipping and containers, where this company helps the management of shipping goods through sea transportation modes with containers, making it easier for consumers in terms of shipping goods between islands in Indonesia. Even though in the implementation of unloading there are still several factors that become obstacles to implementation, the company is making every effort to make the best possible effort to smooth the unloading process.
