Abstract
KMP. Gilimanuk is a ship owned by PT Jemla Ferry which has the Ketapang-Gilimanuk route, this ship is a passenger ship type. The problem that the author has decided includes the KMP ship berth Gilimanuk at the Port of Ketapang Banyuwangi. The issues raised have a purpose. The purpose of this observation is to determine the factors that exist when the ship docks. By using qualitative methods and collecting observation data, interviews or library research that the authors collect, it can be concluded that the KMP ship docks. Gilimanuk from the shipping lane until the ship attaches to the dock until the ropes are tied properly have many factors that affect the docking process. The purpose of the berthing process is to support time efficiency and make the sea transportation mode chosen because of its accuracy and speed in the docking process. In the fast and accurate docking activities, it is expected that sea transportation can be a priority in the choice of Indonesian citizens because most of Indonesia's territory is an archipelago. From the research that the author has done, it can be concluded that the ship docking process must pay attention to both internal and external factors.
