Abstract

The handling of container cargo is very important for the safety of the ship by managing container loads that are not according to standard sizes and container loads that deviate from the bay plan. Manage the container load by following the bayplan that has been made which has seen the ship's stowage plan to make it easier to regulate the stability of the ship. In this observation, the author describes the theory of planning for loading on the MV ship. Meratus Larantuka used in writing and as a basis for solving problems in the observation process. The method used is descriptive method and qualitative method. By observing interviews, literature, and documentation while on board. The purpose of this observation is to prevent damage and safety of container loads during loading and unloading and shipping safety by increasing loading and unloading effectiveness as much as possible and so that there are no obstacles during loading and unloading and sailing ships. Based on the observations made by the author during the practice of sailing on the MV. Meratus Larantuka regarding problems that occur when loading is not according to standard sizes or cargo lists and cargoes that deviate from the bay plan, it was found that there were problems including the factor of making an inaccurate bayplan, lack of communication with land people during the loading process and lack of supervision during the loading process. container in progress. From the results of the analysis it can be concluded that the handling of container loads that are not in accordance with standard sizes by following the bay plan that has been made and following the loading principle. Arrangement of container loads that deviate from the bay plan by making the right bay plan, ensuring the data and quantity to be loaded, always communicating well with each activity, and supervising the loading process.
