Abstract
Ritime safety issues by the Indonesian National SAR Agency, Indonesia is a country whose shipping system is relatively poor, due to the high national sea accidents, and weak awareness of the importance of applying maritime safety norms and good shipping system governance . On this basis it is necessary to know what to do when there is an accident in the waters, what equipment must be prepared and how to maintain it so that the quality of the equipment can support the rescue process quickly and accurately. So that as much as any accident rate can still be minimized by the ability possessed. The purpose of this paper is to be able to provide knowledge and a description of the problem solving described in the background described above. The method taken by the author from field research that has been carried out during his practice at the Office of the National SAR Agency (BASARNAS) Bandung, observations and interviews with employees of the Office of the National SAR Agency (BASARNAS) and also the literature study that the authors took from the Book Search and Rescue (SAR) , as well as documentation taken directly. The results of this paper that before the SAR Team conducts search and rescue operations must go through several methods when conducting a water rescue, as well as search tools and rescue in water must follow the provisions in accordance with Safety of Life At Sea (SOLAS) 1974 CHAPTER III, for maintenance of equipment search and rescue at the Bandung SAR Office are in accordance with what is required by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia and the provisions of the International Maritime Organization (IMO). The following are the water rescue equipment available at the SAR Office in Bandung, which the author has observed during the research: life buoys, life jackets, scuba equipment (Self Contained Under).
