Abstract

The main discussion in the writing of this paper is the role of the Syahbandar office and the Batam Port Authority specifically in the service of clearance (clearance in) and Departure (clearance out) of the ship. There are some background problems that must be resolved in this paper, namely how the influence of the processing of the application for clearance along with the documents needed in the process of clearance in / out and also the lack of discipline of some agents in submitting the application process for clerance in / out. This special KSOP batam is engaged in sea transportation, while the purpose of writing this paper is none other than to find out how important the influence of the clearance in / out process is. Based on the data collection conducted by the author during land practice (PRADA) using several methods including methods of observation, interviews, and document analysis, the results are obtained that: the role of the shahbandar in supervision and safety will run smoothly if from the staff staff and shipping company agents more disciplined when making a request for clearance. It aims to accelerate the clearance process and provide reliable and highly capable national sea transportation services and meet national and international standards.
