Abstract

Transportation safety is an aspect that must be met for actors in the transportation sector. The transportation safety includes land transportation, air transportation and sea transportation. The high number of accidents in Indonesia's shipping lanes makes many people question the cause of the increasing accident rate in Indonesia every year. In this study itself aims to determine how far the influence of the factors that influence ship accidents at the Juwana class III port. Formulation of the problem, the purpose of this study and the hypothesis in this study is to analyze the positive and significant influence individually between the independent variables, namely the condition of the ship, human resources, physical environment on ship accidents. Data sources include primary and secondary data. The sample in this study amounted to 150 respondents who owned ships through probability sampling technique using random sampling. The data analysis technique is multiple linear regression with the result Y= 0.452 + 0.188.X1 + 0.207.X2 + 0.540.X3+µ From the results of the study there is a relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable, hypothesis testing using the t test shows that the three independent variables are the condition of the ship of 0.188 (X1), human resources of 0.207 (X2), and the physical environment of 0.540 (X3). proven to have a positive and significant effect on the dependent variable of ship accidents (Y) with the physical environment variable having the highest influence than the other variables in influencing ship accidents. In the coefficient of determination test (R square) the Adjust R Square value of 0.618 means that 61.8% of the variation in the dependent variable on the ship accident factor can be explained by the independent variables of ship condition, human resources, and the physical environment. While the remaining 38.2% is explained by other reasons outside the variables studied. Keywords: Ship Condition, Human Resources and Environmental Factors
