Abstract
Indonesia is a maritime country consist of islands stretching from Sabang city to Merauke. With a total of 17, 508 islands, the distance between the islands certainly requires supporting connectivity to support the stability of the nation's economy equally. The existence of ports and ships can overcome this problem. Port problems are matters relating to the relationship between ships, loading and unloading, and port services. Ships need a place to lean on the dock and require a variety of services while at the port. Some problems in activities at the port include: Dwelling time and waiting time, Demurrage, Supporting equipment and human resources (HR). The purpose of writing this paper is to find out the loading and unloading activities that occur in the Office of the Harvest Authority and the Port Authority Class I Tanjung Mas Semarang, to learn about the tools, the human resources who carry out the loading and unloading activities and find out what problems occur in loading and unloading activities in the Port of Class I Tanjung Mas Semarang Harvesting Office and Semarang Authority. Based on this description, the writer tries to examine more deeply so that it is manifested in a paper with the title "Loading and Unloading Activities in the Office of Harvest Authority and Class I Port Authority of Tanjung Mas Semarang." With the method of collecting data by observation, interviews and library research that the author does, accurate discussion of problems can be taken. The loading and unloading activities in the Port of I Port Harvest Authority and Class I Tanjung Mas Semarang use a system: stevedoring, cargodoring, and receiving I delivery system. They use equipment: multipurpose gantry cranes, harbour mobile cranes, reach slackers, rubber tire gantries, container spreaders, forklifts and wheel loaders. Reliable and professional human resources will greatly affect the success of goods loading and unloading activities that require speed in working time and accuracy in unloading and loading goods. Some problems that need to be followed up are maintenance of the tools that used in loading and unloading activities, equalization of human resources quality and time discipline in loading and unloading activities.
