Abstract
Indonesia has a sea area of 3,257,483 km² or 2/3 of the total area of Indonesia. The region causes sea transportation (ships) to become one of the main transportations in this era of globalization. All users of sea transportation facilities in Indonesia and in the world in general, are very concerned about issues of safety and security. For the implementation of this improvement in shipping safety, it is the main government policy that must receive top priority in its activities to support the smoothness of sea transportation for the sake of distributing the supply of goods that drive the wheels of the economy and development of the Indonesian state. , law enforcement and coordinating all port activities. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of the independent variables, namely supervision, inspection, and granting of Sailing Approval Letter, for the dependent variable, namely Sailing safety. The population in this study were all service user vessels served by KSOP class II Cilacap and the sample in this study was 70 respondents with the technique used was non-probability sampling technique, namely by using incidental sampling, Kouta sampling is a technique to determine samples from the population have certain characteristics to the desired quantity. The analytical method used is descriptive analysis and quantitative analysis, the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (Software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS). The results of the research by testing the hypothesis showed that the variables of Supervision, Inspection, and Granting of Sailing Approval Letters were positive and significant for Shipping Safety in the Class II KSOP Area Tanjung Intan Port, Cilacap. +0.202X1+0.264X2+0.263X3+ . From the regression results, it can be seen that the most dominant variable affecting shipping safety is the inspection variable with a regression coefficient of 0.264. With the r square test of 0.404 or 40.4% which means that the increase in shipping safety in the KSOP class II Tanjung Intan Cilacap area is influenced by supervision, inspection and granting of shipping approval letters by 40.4% and other factors that affect the improvement of shipping safety in the area served KSOP Class II Cilacap was 59.6%.
