Abstract
A generator is a source of mechanical energy, usually by means of electromagnetic induction. This process is known as power generation. The role of the generator is as a power generator. With a generator source, it will be able to attract and flow all electricity continuously in a series as it should. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out what kind of generator maintenance is done on the CV. Engel Jaya Semarang, in order to be able to find out what effects often arise on generators when they are not properly cared for. The method used to solve the problem is observed. This method requires the author to go directly to make observations. Next is the interview, the method of which is to give several questions to the engineer as the person in charge of the generator. Next is the documentation, this method looks for data in the form of films and generator photos. Finally, use a library that uses books as study material. The discussion in this paper contains an overview of the object of observation, problems that occur in generators, generator maintenance at CV. Enggal Jaya, a result that often arises when the generator is not maintained. The result of this paper is the engineer as the person in charge of the generator in CV. Engel Jaya always performs maintenance actions as described in the discussion so as to make the generator's performance good and the consequences of not doing maintenance on the generator at CV. Angel Jaya caused many problems but when the engineer knew the cause and after that took maintenance action so that the generator set at CV Enggal Jaya did not make more damage. The conclusion of this paper is that maintenance activities that are often carried out consist of: Visual inspection of the condition of the generator, cleaning of the outside of the generator, checking of excessive heat on the generator. Symptoms when the generator is not maintained are the generator when it is turned on suddenly turns off, the generator cannot be started, there are problems with the glow plugs, experiencing colds, reduced fuel pressure, engine power begins to disappear, excessive current disturbances, existing load imbalances, overvoltage breakdown Key Word : Generator, Maintenance, Spark Plug
