Abstract
IMO set the date of July 1, 2004 as entry into force of the ISPS Code. ISPS Code is the new rules governing the security systems ship and port. According to the ISPS Code, Security System on board of a ship should be familiarized. On the issue of safety on board, relating to the security of the ship such as bombs threat, pirates, terrorism, drug smuggling, illegal immigrants, the threat of theft, etc. The objective of this study is to pay attention to issues relating to security procedures and their application in accordance with the implementation of the ISPS Code, the role of the ISPS Code on board of a ship, knowing the theories associated with increased knowledge and security procedures. The data collection method used in this study were field research, documentation, and library research. The results of this study the crew of KM. Puteri Kirana had standart operation procedure on the implementation and apply operating standards of the ISPS Code. However, the crew of KM. Puteri Kirana need to improve the implementation of the operating standards of the ISPS Code by regular scheduled drilling as well as increase the knowledge by books and videos about the ISPS Code.
