Abstract
The level of traffic accidents on river transportation in Kalimantan is still quite high, among others, in the Mahakam river. This is due to the lack of a proper level of transportation used and human factors that often ignore existing safety standards. In addition, socialization in safety awareness in transportation is very minimal which results in negligence of river transport users. Even though the losses due to these accidents are sometimes felt very large, especially for the victims of the accident, both material losses and loss of life. The purpose of this study is to explore the influence of safety equipment, ship's seaworthiness, ship manning on the safety of river taxi shipping on the Mahakam river Samarinda . The technique used is Incidental Sampling, a sampling technique of 100 samples. Questionnaire data processing is assisted by statistical software SPSS version 16. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis. Based on the results of statistical testing using multiple linear regression, the following regression model was obtained Y= 4.865 + 0.113 X1 + 0.516 X2 + 0.014 X3 + . From the results of the analysis using thestatistical application, it was SPSS V.16 found that the variables of safety equipment, shipworthiness, manning had an influence on shipping safety. And the ship's seaworthiness variable has the highest influence compared to other variables studied. From the model obtained, it also shows that all independent variables have an influence of 55.4% and the remaining 44.6% of Shipping Safety is explained by other variables outside the variables studied in this study.
