Abstract

Sea transportation is a meeting point for various regions and is an activity that supports economic activities. The sea transportation sector plays a role in increasing economic growth. A port is a place consisting of land and surrounding waters with certain boundaries as a place for government activities and economic activities that are used as a place for ships to dock, dock, up and down passengers and or loading and unloading of goods equipped with shipping safety facilities and port supporting activities as well as as a place of intra and intermodal transfer. With the existence of a port, economic activities can become smoother, so it is necessary to know the effect of loading and unloading speed, ship piloting, and weather on ship waiting times at the Tanjung Emas port, Semarang. The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not the influence of loading and unloading speed, ship piloting, and weather on the waiting time of ships at the port of Tanjung Emas Semarang. The sample in this study amounted to 90 respondents using the services of PT. PELINDO (Persero) III Regional Central Java, using the Probability sampling technique with the Simple Random Sampling method and the analysis tool using SPSS V. 23 with the analytical technique used is the classification assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, hypothesis testing and coefficient of determination. Based on this analysis, the following regression equation was obtained. Y = 1.885 + 0.345 + 0.270 + 0.221 + . From the regression equation, it can be seen that the independent variables, namely loading and unloading speed with a regression coefficient of 0.345 (X1), ship piloting 0.270 (X2), and weather 0.221 (X3) proved to have a positive and significant effect on the dependent variable, namely ship waiting time with variable loading and unloading speed has the highest influence than other variables. In the R2 test (Adjusted R square) the results were 0.638 or 63.8%, which means that the waiting time for the ship is influenced by the variables of loading and unloading speed, ship scouting, and weather, namely 63.8% and other factors that affect the waiting time of the ship, which is equal to 36.2% such as water irrigation, project development, and others. Based on the processing of questionnaire data totaling 90 respondents, it can be concluded that the independent variables (speed of loading and unloading, ship scouting, and weather) have a positive and significant effect on the dependent variable (ship waiting time) at the port of Tanjung Emas Semarang, as evidenced by the data quantity test, test classical assumptions, multiple linear regression analysis, and hypothesis testing on the questionnaire.
