Abstract

In ship agency activities to handle ship arrivals and departures, agents must request ship data and documents from the Captain to take care of all ship activities from the initial arrival to departure. Agents will be related to agencies in the port area. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out and explain about the arrival and departure of ships and to find out what documents must be prepared by the agent for the ship being agencyed so that the clearance activities run smoothly without obstacles. As well as knowing the problems that often occur in ship clearance activities. The method used in writing this paper uses the method of observation, interviews, and literature. In this case collecting data in the form of data on the object of observation, as well as collection of documents and data related to the arrival and departure of the agency's ships. Based on the results of the discussion, it has been found that in the arrival and departure of ships, agents play a very important role in the smooth process of arrival and departure activities and handle ship documents. The conclusion from this discussion is that the agent plays a very important role in activities from the initial arrival to departure of the ship and handling ship documents.
