Abstract

Safety riding is a safe riding behavior that can help to avoid traffic accidents. Safety riding refers to driving behavior that ideally must have a sufficient level of security both for oneself and for others, in order to avoid traffic accidents. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of helmet use behavior, vehicle conditions and and safety driving traffic discipline on UNDANA KUPANG student of 2016-2020 class. The population in this study were students of Nusa Cendana University Kupang State Administration Science (FISIP) Study Program class 2016-2020 with a sample of this study as many as 98 respondents. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling type of quota sampling. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression analysis. The formulation of regression in this study is as follows: Y = 0,339 +0,186X1+0,203X2+0,556X3+µ The results of the multiple linear regression study showed that there was a partially positive influence on helmet use behavior on safety t count (2,022)> t table (1,985), vehicle conditions on safety riding t count (2,269)> t table (1,985), traffic discipline towards safety riding t count (5,122)> table (1,985). The influence of the three research variables is very strong with the correlation coefficient of determination (Adjusted R Square = 0.602), which means 60,2%, the variable coefficient of helmet use behavior, vehicle conditions, traffic discipline influences safety riding, while the remaining 39,8 % influenced by variables outside this study. Keywords : Helmet Use Behavior, Vehicle Conditions, Traffic Dicipline and Safety Riding.
