Abstract

Information on weather and sea observations is very necessary for the public, the observed weather element will be used as material to predict the weather in the future. Weather data can also be used to reduce risks caused by the weather itself. To measure the weather and sea conditions with an automatic observation system an Automatic Weather Station was made. Automatic Weather Station or AWS is an integrated equipment system designed to collect weather data,Automatic Weather Station is also often used by the Port Meteorological Officer in the voyage of Fam Voyage or Voluntary Observing Ships that has the purpose of observing and collecting weather and sea data and providing guidance and socialization about the importance of marine weather for the safety of the voyage. Data collected by BMKG is then processed and sent via the Computerize Message Switching System to the maritime station and the data can then be distributed to various online media. The purpose of this study was to find out how to read and verify AWS data used by BMKG in East Tomini Bay, southern waters of North Sulawesi, Bitung - Likupang waters. The method used in determining weather forecasts and sea by using modern tools. With modern tools, it can educate the workforce of BMKG. And the weather forecast data generated can be estimated in the field. Conclusions from the results of solving the problem can be overcome. Steps taken by BMKG that weather forecasts need to be carried out in forecasting weather and sea conditions with accurate data Keywords : Automatic Weather Station, Observation, Weather
