Abstract
There are many collisions or accidents in the maritime world. This is because many ships are unsuitable for sailing but still insist on sailing which makes morning losses for the ship owner or company. Port State Control (PSC) As a sail safety surveillance officer has the right to inspect ships. The purpose of this paper is to find out how the task of Port State Control (PSC) in the supervision of ships coming. The method of data retrieval was obtained by interviewing the Port State Control Officer (PSCO), Observation at the port, and data collection at the Port State Control (PSC) office. In the research there are times when a ship's condition is found to be lacking in deficiencies and does not meet IMO standards. So that the Port State Control (PSC) has the authority to make a break. Port State Control (PSC) is the state port supervisory body to enforce the provisions of the convention in force in the field of shipping safety and protection and working conditions of seafarers as well as inspect, verify and certify foreign vessels.
