Abstract

679 or 67.9% which means that the variable traffic congestion on the road Traffic congestion is a decrease in the smooth flow of traffic on existing roads, and greatly affects travellers, both those who use public transportation and private transportation, this has an impact on inconvenience and increases travel time for travellers (Kurniati, 2015). This study was conducted to determine how the effect of Traffic Characteristics, Side Barriers and Vehicle Growth on traffic congestion that occurred on Letjend S. Parman Street, Temanggung Regency. In this study, the research population is motorists who pass or use Letjend S. Parman Street, Temanggung Regency as their transportation route. The sampling technique used is non-probability sampling with the type of sampling, namely Incidental sampling with a total of 100 respondents (samples). The analytical method used is quantitative analysis, the data were analyzed using multiple linear regression analysis with the help of (Software) Statistical Package For Social Science (SPSS). The results of this study indicate that the variables of traffic characteristics, side barriers, and vehicle growth have a positive and significant effect on traffic congestion. The results of multiple linear regression analysis obtained the equation Y = -0.087+ 0, 222X1 + 0.368X2 + 0.388X3 + µ. From the multiple linear regression equation, it can be seen that the most dominant variable affecting traffic congestion is the vehicle growth variable with a regression coefficient of 0.388 and the Adjusted R Square test of 0.Letjend S. Parman Temanggung Regency is influenced by the variables of traffic characteristics, side barriers, and vehicle growth by 67.9% and other factors that affect traffic jams besides the factors studied are 32.1%.
