Abstract
Documentation is a process of moving a ship from the water/sea to the dock with the help of dock facilities. Before carrying out the process of docking the ship, it is necessary to prepare carefully and be done carefully. The Indonesian Classification Bureau (BKI) and Syah Bandar determine the docking periods of the ship, all of which depend on the generality of the ship, the type of material used as the hull, and the condition/needs of the ship. Based on the background of the problem that causes delays in the ship repair process, problems can be formulated, including the occurrence of ship delays coming down from the shipyard and the lack of facilities in the docking area which causes a lack of efficient ship repair work. The purpose of this paper is to find out what are the preparations for the ship before going down to the shipyard and to find out what facilities exist in the docking area. Therefore, the authors conducted observations, interviews and data documentation during practice in. PT. Beautiful Marina Janata. In this paper it can be concluded that the causes of ship delays before disembarking from the shipyard and the lack of facilities in the docking area include the lack of effectiveness of the workforce in docking activities, if the ship repair procedure is not in accordance with applicable regulations, there will be ship delays before disembarking from the dock by shipyard. And it is recommended to continue to improve the quality and service of ship repair and maintain the procedures that have been determined by the company. Keywords: Delay, Ship Repair, Shipyard.
