Abstract

Welding is one way to permanently connect two metal parts using heat. To maintain and maintain operational continuity and so that occupational safety and health can be realized and run as expected. The problem that occurs is minimizing exposure to smoke caused by dirt on the object to be welded, electrodes in humid conditions, and not trying to use a vacuum cleaner pipe or chimney to reduce the amount of smoke exposure in the grounding area and prevent a short circuit that can result in fire such as damage or fire. peeling wires due to heat from unstable electric current and AC voltage is too high will result in electric shock or electric short circuit during welding. The writing method used is a quantitative method by making related observations regarding the identification of welding hazards and occupational safety and health procedures in the welding process. The purpose of this paper is to clean the dirt attached to the surface of the material before welding, carry out maintenance on the electrodes, and seek to use a vacuum cleaner as well as repair damaged or peeling cables using special fire or heat resistant plaster and carry out repairs. by maintaining the stability of the AC welding arc with a voltage reducing device or DC arc welding machine and the voltage is 60V. The results of the writing are based on the existing problems, namely after taking precautions by minimizing the amount of smoke exposure, reducing the amount of smoke exposure that can cause health problems and preventing the emergence of fire in an electric short circuit is the stability of the AC arc which reduces the potential for an electric short circuit that causes a fire or fire hazard Keywords: Welding, Welding Dengerous, Occupational Safety and Health
