Abstract
Ketapang Port is located at the eastern end of Java Island which connects Java Island and Bali Island. KMP. Gilimanuk I is one of the fleets operating in the area. The case of the sinking of the ship was caused by an imbalance in the stability of the ship. This occurs because of the tendency of the ship's nature to return to its original position after receiving senget (tilt). This observation is carried out to find information on how the influence of internal and external factors on the stability of the KMP ship. Gilimanuk 1 and load regulation procedures and obstacles during the loading process of passenger vehicles. The purpose of writing this study is to determine the effect of internal factors on ship stability, to know the effect of external factors on ship stability, to know the load regulation procedures so that the ship has the correct stability and to know the obstacles during the loading process of passenger vehicles. The method used to compile scientific papers uses qualitative methods. Data collection methods used in this observation were obtained from observation, interviews, literature and internet media. The balance of the ship is influenced by internal and external factors. In the case of the distribution of cargo on a ship, it must be evenly distributed, whether the weight of the right or left hull and front, rear so that the ship while sailing does not experience problems with stability while sailing, so that obstacles in the loading process can be minimized. With the correct ship stability and a good passenger vehicle loading process, it can reduce the obstacles faced in shipping. Keywords: Internal and external factors, ship stability, loading process
