Abstract
In ship agency activities to handle ship clearance and clearance services, agents must ask for ship data and documents to take care of all ship activities from initial arrival to departure. The agent will be related to the agency in the port area. The purpose of writing this paper is to find out and explain the activities of Clearance in and Clearance out Services for ships and to find out what documents the agent must prepare for the ship being agency so that the clearance activities run smoothly without hindrance. As well as knowing the problems that often occur in ship clearance activities. The method used in writing this paper uses the method of observation, interviews, and literature. In this case, it collects data in the form of data on the object of observation, as well as a collection of documents and data related to the activities of the Clearance Service in and out of the ship being agency. Based on the results of the discussion, it has been found that in the activity of service clearance in and out of ships, agents play a very important role in the smooth process of unloading coal and handling ship documents. The conclusion of this discussion is that the agent plays a very important role in the activities of ship clearance in and clearance out services and in handling ship documents and cargo documents, from initial arrival to ship departure.
