Abstract

In this technological era, the loading and unloading process plays an important role for import-export activities. In the process of loading and unloading containers on the ship. The loading and unloading company must follow several loading and unloading procedures on the ship, especially on container ships. As in the preparation of the documents needed in the loading and unloading process, the preparation of the tools that will be prepared to carry out the loading and unloading process, and which agencies will assist in the loading and unloading process. The loading and unloading company must take into account the obstacles that may occur during the loading and unloading process. Loading and unloading is a process where there are various series of activities in it. At the time of loading and unloading carried out must follow the existing regulations. The loading and unloading process must also pay attention to the existing equipment at the port as well as supporting documents that must be complete and clear. Container loading and unloading activities are one of the important components in loading and unloading service providers. The loading and unloading process at the Semarang Container Terminal has problems that arise including shortages, damage and loss in containers, mitigation for machine maintenance which has an impact on loading and unloading activities, receiving/delivery activities which result in the length of loading and unloading activities.The purpose of this study is to find out the problems that arise in the process of loading and unloading containers, as well as how to handle problems that arise in the loading and unloading process.
