Abstract
Maintenance and repair of safety equipment is an important role in carrying out ship safety. Maintenance and repair measures for ships of a shipping company are expected to have an important role in the company's operating capabilities. Safety on board is one of the absolute factors that must be met so that the crew can work safely and optimally. Safety equipment is the most important auxiliary tool on every ship. The purpose of this scientific paper is to determine the maintenance and repair of safety equipment on board. The method used in writing scientific papers is the observation method. Apart from using these methods the writer also uses interview methods and literary methods. The results of the discussion in this scientific paper are the maintenance and repair of safety equipment so that they can be used in an emergency. These treatments have used according to the checklist provided by SOLAS. This is so that during an emergency it can be used properly. The conclusion from the discussion of this scientific paper is to know the maintenance and repair of safety equipment on board. And safety equipment that is damaged can be corrected or replaced. In order for safety equipment to work properly, maintenance must be carried out regularly and according to the schedule provided by SOLAS. Keywords : Maintenance, Repair, Safety equipment.
