Abstract

The problems that the authors have decided include maintenance of fire fighting equipment at PT. Indonusa Tenggara Marine. The issues raised have a purpose. The purpose of this observation is to find out how PT. Indonusa Tenggara Marine in its fire fighting equipment maintenance efforts, to find out what things PT. Indonusa Tenggara Marine when maintaining fire fighting equipment and to find out what problems arise when maintaining fire fighting equipment at PT. Indonusa Tenggara Marine. From the observations it can be concluded that PT. Indonusa Tenggara Marine in carrying out maintenance of fire fighting equipment which has several procedures to get the maximum performance of a fire extinguisher or tube, it is necessary to check fire extinguishers periodically. Routine maintenance can be done every month, generally there is a checking label that records the last time the extinguisher was maintained. As for the maintenance carried out, such as checking the entire extinguishing equipment starting from the smallest things to checking the contents and pressure of the gas, PT. Indonusa Tenggara Marine in addressing the things that need to be considered in the maintenance of fire fighting equipment, namely the occurrence of fires is unpredictable, fires can arise from various causes, both from electrical short circuit, burning solid / liquid objects that have flammable properties, and can come from the spread of fire caused by fires from other places, PT. Indonusa Tenggara Marine in addressing the problems that arise when maintaining fire extinguishing equipment or fire extinguishers is regulated according to NFPA standard no. 10 (Portable Fire Extinguisher), check the pressure gauge to make sure the pressure is up to standard, make sure the fire extinguisher is in the place that has been determined and according to the standard, physically check the fire extinguisher and make sure it doesn't show any signs of damage or interference, check the wheel can rotate or not, specifically for the heavy fire extinguisher unit (APAB) or the trolley itself, make sure the seal and safety pin are properly installed, check whether the fire extinguisher nozzle is clogged or not.
