Abstract
The importance of maintaining safety on the ship according to the safety management system is must do because it is a very important factor for safety in carrying out activity on the vessel. The safety management system that is intended is an effort to prevent or reduce the bad things that will happen while doing activities on the vessel. The purpose of this paper is find out about how to maximize of the safety management system to minimize of work accidents in tug boats owned by PT. Pertamina Trans Kontinental in Cilacap waters operation. The data collection method used is research method and literature study that uses observation and interview techniques. The result of this paper are the maximize of the safety management system to minimize the occurrence of work accidents in tug boats owned by PT. Pertamina Trans Kontinental in Cilacap waters operation has been carried out according to the safety management system there are drill, maintenance and familiarization. Keywords: Safety management, work accident.
