Abstract

The Class II Navigation District Office of Cilacap as a technical Implementing Unit within the Directorate General of Sea Transportation in order to support shipping safety at Tanjung Intan Port, has an important role in carrying out the navigation sector by operating navigational aids, one of which is Buoy. The function of the buoy is as a sign of danger, as a guide or guide for a safe way to sail. To expedite such vital functions, maintenance and care of the Buoy are required. The installation of bouy (buoys) is very necessary to facilitate shipping activities, usually installed in narrow waterways, busy waterways, entering shipwrecks, submarine cables, sea bottom pipes, shallow waters of the port area. Ensuring a ship sails safely and minimizes the possibility of ship accidents and disruptions in shipping. With the method of collecting data both by observation, interview, and library research that the author collected, an accurate discussion of the problem can be taken. This is intended to support shipping safety at Tanjung Emas Port. The conclusions obtained from the results of the study indicate that it is important to know the types of bouy, colors or shapes of objects from the bouy and the meaning of the bouy to facilitate the course of shipping. Keywords: shelter, installation and navigation procedures.
