Abstract
Altenator is a device that can convert mechanical energy or motion into electrical energy. Mechanical power or motion can be obtained from heat, water, steam, and others. The electrical energy produced is direct current (DC), an alternative function of electromechanical equipment that converts mechanical energy into electrical energy. In principle, it is called an alternator. To convert the mechanical energy that is obtained from the engine, the mechanical electric power of the engine is channeled by a pulley, which rotates the wheels and produces an alternating electric current which is then converted into direct current by the diodes. The main components of the alternator are, the rotor which generates an electric magnetic field, the stator which generates an alternating electric current, and several diodes which rectify the alternating electric current in the stator. Brushes that supply electric current to the rotor to produce magnetism (magnetic field), bearings that allow the rotor to rotate gently and a fan to cool the rotor, stator and diode, damage usually occurs in altenator components such as dirty rotors, stator , shafts, bearings, and housing. The damage that is often experienced in the altenator components includes cracks in the housing of the subscriber by replacing the components for the rotor and stator, usually there is dirt that can interfere with the performance of the rotor or stator, usually for the stator, the burns of the repair windings can be cleaned or replaced and at Shafts generally experience wear, therefore the importance of lubrication using vasseline or grees.
