Abstract

The Tanjung Mas Semarang Maritime BMKG Station has an important role in accurate weather observations as reliable information for activities in the Semarang area especially in the Tanjung Mas area where many sea transportation requires weather reports to sail safely. In terms of assisting activities in the Semarang area, the Maritime BMKG Station sends the results of coastal radio weather observations using facsimiles which are then sent to ships passing through the Semarang Maritime BMKG service area. Observations in meteorological terms are called observations made using tools and visual observations. In this automatic weather station device, the weather parameters that can be seen include air humidity and wind. The purpose of conducting this research is to create accurate information during the observation process. First, you must know about the workings of the equipment, the provisions concerning the accuracy of the data. In solving this problem using observation methods / methods must pay attention to the properties of the object, considering that objects are not only one and different, the season also affects the properties of one object to another. Therefore the role of the Observer (the person doing the observation) is very reliable in this regard. So that observations can be made appropriately. Optimization of observations like this is what determines a weather forecast information for safe navigation. This observation is useful to be able to find out how the role of the Maritime BMKG in conveying weather information. After conducting the research, the results showed that an automatic weather monitoring device called an automatic weather system could be useful for many parties to better understand the role of the Maritime BMKG in conveying weather information to help navigate.
