Abstract

Accidents occur to ships either on board, at anchor or carrying out loading and unloading activities at the port / terminal, even though efforts are made to avoid it. Fire is an emergency situation caused by fire from the causing media in various places / compartments. The background of this mandate is the fire hazard management system and procedures on board. The principle of fire suppression on ships is to remove one of the elements of the fire by cooling, separating oxygen, transferring combustible materials, and cutting off the supply of fuel. each crew of the ship has different duties and responsibilities according to their respective positions. The purpose of this is to look at the principles of fire management, procedures for handling and optimizing fire hazards, and alertness, duties and responsibilities of the crew in the event of a fire. The method used by the author when surveying the data during field study observations at PT.indonusa Tenggara marine, observation by recording problems carefully, discussions or interviews, interviews, ships or port staff and also carrying out library studies for literature from various books. The results of this paper are the principle alerts used in fire hazard management, procedures performed in a fire hazard, as well as the duties and responsibilities of the crew during a fire hazard.crews.
