Abstract

Geographically, Indonesia is located in a very strategic position, because it is located between two continents (Asia and Australia) and two oceans (Indonesian and Pacific Oceans) which are the cross points of world trade. As an archipelagic country with a sea area twice as large as land, it places sea transportation as the most important position and one of which is the handling of ship documents through clearance in and out procedures and processes through relevant agencies in order to minimize the occurrence of obstacles in document processing. The purpose of this observation is to know the ship's document documents through clearance procedures and processes in and going through related agencies and obstacles that often occur. The author uses the method of observation and interviews, the results show that: the clearaence in and out process is carried out at PT. karana line properly and without obstacles Keywords: Procedure, Process, clearance in and out, Agent. .
